There is a little pink reading lamp on my desk. My father bought it for me nearly five years ago when I just started my life's career. I would switch it on and off for quite a few times each day. It has become an indispensable part of my life. It has been, so to speak, quite a loyal friend of mine.
Though I have hardly ever been gentle to it, it has never broken down, or failed to give me light and warmth when needed. I can still remember how many nights I sat by this little friend, striving for my dream, a dream that I have given up for some reason. It has always been here, witnessing my growth, quietly and silently.
Sorry, my little friend, I haven't let you see my dream come true. What a pity! What a shame! However, please do believe me, I am by no means degenerated. I have some other plans, and I hope that I can have your company on my way forever. Thank you, dear!
