theres not many things you can see in Forbidden City now, I went there last month, like NOTHING there, Iv been told there used to have some furnitures inside the rooms, now have all been moved out
May I suggest you to add Guloudajie and Nanluoguxiang for the night tour? =)
I think time wise it is possible, but energy wise it is quite draining. Also depends on your budget. If you have a private car take you everywhere you could easily see all 3. But even with the bus, you can leave early in the morning, quickly climb the wall, and be at Tiananmen in the afternoon.
To be realistic, if someone comes for the first time to Beijing if for one day, it might be best to sacrifice the Great Wall for several of Beijing's attractions instead. If you are going to trek out all the way to the Great Wall, you really should climb it too! Assuming staying down town you need to think in terms of 1 and a half hours there, one and a half hours back (on a good day . Bad day could be longer) two hours to get in, climb up and down with a little souvenir shopping. Climbing down is not easier than climbing up! Then you'll be hungry. I have done it with public transport and with private buses with my students more than 40 times. We are located a bit nearer the route to the Wall, so we save some time. Yet an 8 .00 am departure from nearer (perhaps 7.30 am if downtown) with private bus hire, go to say Mutianyu Wall - very nice - shop a bit, walk up, enjoy view, walk down, get nice lunch nearby town, we are back by 4 pm usually. Problem is sights like Forbidden City, must enter by 3.30 pm or 4 pm according to season and at that time it would be very rushed in there. You would need to be parking and walking to Forbidden City by 3 pm so simply not a good fit. When I get a chance I'll write up what is known as Colin's Beijing Tours!

The suggestions listed per day do not take into account the geographical relationships between them. as you add more days the whole thing needs reworking, though the suggested venues are good suggestions. However this combination in one day would give you an impossibly small time at each Forbidden City, Tienanmen Square, Summer Palace and Temple of Heaven. Need splitting up for sure. Hutong Tour can be combined with other things that day for sure.
in my opinion, if you just stay for one day, iit is not enough to visit Great wall of Chna. it is a time consuming job to gat to there and have a visit.
