So dim, so dark, So dense, so dull, So damp, sodank, So dead! The weather, now warm, now cold.Makes it harder .Than ever to forget! How can a few cups of thin wineBring warmth against .The chilly winds of sunset?I recognize the geese flying overhead:My old friends, Bring not the old memories back!Let fallen flowers lie where they fall.To what purpose .And for whom should 1 decorate?By the window shut,Guarding it alone,To see the sky has turned so black! And the drizzle on the kola nut.Keeps on droning: Pit-a-pat, pit-a-pat!Is this the kind of mood and moment. To be expressed By one word "sad"? The dusk at the river arbor I often recall.Blind-drunk, our way back we remembered not at all!aving had much fun, we paddled homeboundAnd strayed into lotus flowers profound.Tried to get through,Tried to get through! So startled, all egrets from the shoal flew. Pink fragrant lotus fade; autumn chills mat of jade.My silk robe doffed, I floatAlone in orchid bote.Who in the cloud would bring me letters in brocade? When swans come back in fright,My bower's steeped in moomlight. As fallen flowers drift and water runs their way,One longing overflowsTwo places with same woes.Such sorrow can by no means be driven away; From eyebrows kept apart,Again it gnaws my heart. Last night the rain was light, the wind fierce,And deep sleep did not dispel the effects of wine. When I ask the maid rolling up the curtains,She answers, "The crab-apple blossoms look the same."I cry, "Can't you see? Can't you see?The green leaves are fresh but the red flowers are fading! To be, one should be a rare fellow. Not to be, one should be a ghost hero. From Youdao

1. Choose authenticity over conformity.Decide that living a life that is true to you is more important than what other people think.Begin listening to and trusting in the wisdom of your own soul over the noise of the world. No one is a better expert on your life than you.2. Decide to love and accept yourself now. There is an old Buddhist saying which goes: "We are all perfect as we are, and we could all use a little work".Don't wait until you grow into the person you want to be to grant yourself your own love and acceptance. Paradoxically, it is only from a space of unconditional self-love that long-lasting inner transformation happens.3. Get clear on your vision and goals.Write down what you would love your life to look like in key life areas, like love and relationships, career and contribution, wealth and lifestyle, health and wellbeing, learning and creativity, and soul or spirituality.Reflect on how you can make this vision a reality. Break it down into key bite-sized goals for the next twelve months.4. Make the present moment your main focus. While dreams and goals are valuable, don't make the mistake of putting your happiness or enjoyment of life on hold until you've achieved them.Make every single day the most important day of your life. Be here now and savour the beauty and miracles around you, like your body, nourishing food, sunshine, loved ones and laughter.5. Commit to connecting with your soul daily.Your soul is your guide to your passions and purpose in life. It can also provide daily guidance on any issues you face, and nudge you in the direction of your dreams. To tap into this wisdom, build a better connection with your soul by meditating for at least ten minutes a day. You can simply sit in silence and pay attention to the sensations of your breath. Every time your mind wanders, bring your attention back to your breath.Create mini pauses throughout the day to reconnect with yourself. Pause and take a few deep breaths as you go from one place to another, or one task to another.6. Make yourself accountable. When you set out to change your life, the pull of old habits and the busyness of daily life can sometimes bump you off track.Don't bury your head in the sand. Check in with how you are progressing with your goals by scheduling a weekly review with yourself. Block out half an hour of time at home or visit a local cafe for a coffee. This is an opportunity to acknowledge what you're proud of (how often we forget) and lovingly look into what may not be working well or serving your highest good.7. Bless what you already have.Elkhart Tolle wrote: "Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance".If you focus only on what you don't have, you are likely to perpetuate the same circumstances for yourself. True happiness is a state of mind, not a collection of material goods or a set number of goals achieved. If you look on what you already have with gratitude and give thanks and bless it for being in your life, you will reprogram your brain to notice all of the good things in life.8. Clean up your mindset. The world is a reflection of your dominant thoughts and feelings about yourself and life. If you think and speak in negative terms all day long, your life will reflect that. If you think and speak in positive terms, your life will reflect that too.If you want to make changes in your life, first look within at your belief system. Be radically honest with yourself about whether your inner dialogue supports your goals. You can install new beliefs using affirmations and spending time visualizing what it would be like to be the greatest version of you. You can also 'play act' as this greatest version of you throughout the day, which will shift the way you think and act, in turn shifting your life.9. Free yourself from the past.In Buddhism they say that when we hold on to a past hurt or grievance, it ties an internal knot in our body. The more we hold on to past grievances, the more knots we have, blocking off our access to our life force, power, love, inspiration and joy.Forgiveness is the gift you give yourself. Set yourself free by letting go of your past hurts. See past the mistakes we all make as human beings to the same light of consciousness within all.10. Feel the fear and do it anyway. What stops us from going for goals or trying new things is not fear itself but our aversion to experiencing fear.Fear is a bundle of sensations and feelings in your body. It doesn't inherently mean 'stop' but many of us interpret it in this way. Reinterpret the discomfort of fear as a sure sign of growth and liberate yourself by moving forward anyway.11. Redefine what success means to you.Gandhi famously said: "Full effort is full victory".Instead of defining success as something 'out there' that is dependant on external outcomes, define success as giving your best daily; as going for your dreams; as giving things a go.It is far better to be in the arena dancing with life and taking some tumbles than to be timidly watching from the sidelines.12. Think give. The poet Rumi wrote: "Your acts of kindness are iridescent wings of divine love, which linger and continue to uplift others long after your sharing."Giving and receiving are one in truth because both the giver and receiver are uplifted and nourished by the act. Make it a habit of waking up and asking: How can I serve you today Universe? When you smile at a stranger in the street they might go home in a better mood, compliment their partner, who will in turn show love to the next person they encounter. Your small acts of kindness can have a ripple effect on the world.

1. Be grateful. Slowdown, look around you, and pay attention to the little details in your life—the delicate purple flower on the sidewalk, the beautiful sunset, the hot shower that washes away your long day, and the smile in your partner's eyes… When you have a grateful heart that is appreciative of life's beautify, wonder and blessings, you're automatically filled with happiness. 2 Choose your friends wisely. According to Harvard, the most important external factors affecting individual happiness are human relationships. So if you want to be happy, choose to be around people who are optimistic, who appreciate you as you are, and who can make your life richer, bigger, more fun, and more meaningful. 3 Cultivate compassion. When we try to step into other people's shoes and understand a situation from another's perspective, we're more likely to handle the situation with compassion, objectivity and effectiveness. There will be less conflicts and more happiness. 4 Keep learning. Learning keeps us young and dreams keep us alive. When we engage our brains and put them toward productive uses, we're less likely to dwell on unhappy thoughts and much more likely to feel happy and fulfilled. 5 Become a problem solver. Happy people are problem solvers. When they encounter a challenge in life, they don't beat themselves up and fall into a depressive state. Instead, they face up to the challenge and channel their energies toward finding a creative solution. By becoming a problem solver, you'll build up your self-confidence and your ability to accomplish whatever it is you set your mind to—and whatever challenges life throws your way. 6 Do what you love. Since we spend over one-third of our adult life working, loving what we do has a huge impact on our overall happiness. If this is not possible at the moment, then try to find enjoyment and meaning in your current work, or cultivate a hobby that involves doing something you love. 7 Live in present. When you feel depressed, you're living in the past. When you feel worried or anxious, you're living in the future. But when you feel content, happy and peaceful, you're living in the present. 8 Laugh often. Laughter is the most powerful anecdote to anger or depression. Research has shown that the simple act of curving the corners of your mouth can increase your feeling of happiness. So don't take life too seriously. Try to find humor and laughter in life's everyday struggles. 9 Practice forgiveness. Resentment and anger are forms of self-punishment. When you forgive, you're actually practicing kindness to yourself. And most importantly, learn to forgive yourself. Everyone makes mistakes. It's through our mistakes that we learn and grow to become a bigger and better person. 10 Say thanks often. Always be appreciative of the blessings in your life. And it's equally important to express your appreciation to those who've made your life better in someway, big or small. 11 Create deeper connections. Our happiness multiplies when we connect and bond with another human being on a deeper level. And being fully present and listening are two of the most important skills to strengthening that bond and bringing happiness toourselves, and to others. 12 Keep your agreement. Our self-esteem is built on the agreements we've made with ourselves. And high self-esteem has a direct correlation to happiness. So keep your agreements with others and with yourself. 13 Meditate. According to Harvard, people who take 8 sessions of mindfulness meditation training are, on average, 20% happier than a control group. Such training can lead to structural brain changes including increased grey-matter density in thehippocampus, known to be important for learning and memory, and in structures associated with self-awareness, compassion and introspection. 14 Focus on what you're doing. When you put your mind, heart and soul into what you're doing, you're creating a happiness state—called the “flow.” When you're living in the flow, you're less likely to care about what others may think of you, and less bothered bythings that are not that important. The result? More happiness, of course! 15 Be optimistic. For happy people, the glass is always half-full. If your tendency is to imagine the very worst-case scenario every time you face a challenge, then train yourself to reverse that tendency. Ask yourself what good can come out of the situation or what you can learn from it. Optimism surely fuels success and happiness. 16 Love unconditionally. No one is perfect. Accept yourself for all of your imperfections. And do so for others. Loving someone unconditionally does not mean that you need to spend all your time with them or help them figure out their problems. Unconditional love means accepting people as they are, and allowing them to find their own ways, at their own pace. 17 Don't give up. Unfinished projects and repeated defeats inevitably dampen one's self-esteem. If you've made up your mind to do something, see it through. Don't give up until you succeed. Remember, failure is temporary but defeat is permanent. And defeat only occurs when you give up. 18 Do your best and then let go. Everyone has limitations, and things don't always turn out to be what we'd like them to be—despite our efforts. So always give your best, and then let go. Let events run their course. When you've done your best, you'll have no regrets. 19 Take care of yourself. A healthy body is the key to happiness. If you have poor health, it's very difficult to be happy no matter how hard you try. So make sure you eat well, exercise and find time to rest. Take good care of your body, your mind and your spirit. 20 Give back. Doing good is one of the surest ways to feel good. According to Harvard, when people do good, their brains becomes active in the very same reward center that is stimulated when they experience other rewards. So it's not a surprise that people who care more about others are happier than those who care less about others.

As I began to love myself I found that anguish and emotional suffering are only warning signs that I was living against my own truth.Today, I know, this is AUTHENTICITY. As I began to love myself I understood how much it can offend somebody as I try to force my desires on this person, even though I knew the time was not right and the person was not ready for it, and even though this person was me.Today I call it “RESPECT“. As I began to love myself I stopped craving for a different life, and I could see that everything that surrounded me was inviting me to grow.Today I call it “Maturity“. As I began to love myself I understood that at any circumstance, I am in the right place at the right time, and everything happens at the exactly right moment, so I could be calm.Today I call it “SELF-CONFIDENCE“. As I began to love myself I quit steeling my own time, and I stopped designing huge projects for the future. Today, I only do what brings me joy and happiness, things I love to do and that make my heart cheer, and I do them in my own way and in my own rhythm.Today I call it “SIMPLICITY“. As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything that is no good for my health – food, people, things, situations, and everything the drew me down and away from myself. At first I called this attitude a healthy egoism.Today I know it is “LOVE OF ONESELF“. As I began to love myself I quit trying to always be right, and ever since I was wrong less of the time.Today I discovered that is “MODESTY“. As I began to love myself I refused to go on living in the past and worry about the future. Now, I only live for the moment, where EVERYTHING is happening.Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it “FULFILLMENT“. As I began to love myself I recognized that my mind can disturb me and it can make me sick. But As I connected it to my heart, my mind became a valuable ally.Today I call this connection “WISDOM OF THE HEART“. We no longer need to fear arguments, confrontations or any kind of problems with ourselves or others. Even stars collide, and out of their crashing new worlds are born. Today I know THAT IS “LIFE“!
