Is religion important in one's life ?

Religion is an organized collection of belief systems, cultural systems, and world views that relate humanity to spirituality and, sometimes, to moral values.Many religions have narratives, symbols, traditions and sacred histories that are intended to give meaning to life or to explain the origin of life or the Universe. From their ideas about the cosmos and human nature, they tend to derive morality, ethics, religious laws or a preferred lifestyle. According to some estimates, there are roughly 4,200 religions in the world.
What is your view about religion and how important it is to you?
I have some agreement with Robert237. There are some sincere, good people who believe in God (not me). But the suspension of rationality required to believe in unscientific things is often used by manipulative elites to control less intelligent people. Perhaps my religion is a loyalty and hope for humanity.
religion is only as important as you want to make it in your life. ultimately, it should not matter to anyone but you, except for the effect it has on them. the brand name of your religion should not matter, its quality will be seen through your actions.
religion is human's faith, different religion I think that were derived from different cultural tradition, and evolved as the economic and social development.
In early stage of human history, especially in the ninteen century, religion has raised to it's highest peak, but the communicaiton, technoledge and transportation etc, all limited its' dissemination and interaction with the other religions in the world.
now, people have more choices in their faith and believe, which one they can believe in, when they can begin, all have their own freedom to engage with.
Religion is nothing more than a tool rulers use to subjugate people and keep them subjugated.
There is nothing spiritual about religion.
Each person is a spiritual being and does not need a middle man between themselves and God.
If you think you need a religion to find God then you have lost your way.
Unfortunate people get driven by greed, but as long as they find their way back to goodness God is always happy to help the lost lambs.

People need religion to lead a better life and to have "fear of God" before doing anything wrong.....unfortunately even after so much teachings in our holy books people are still inclined to do things under lust , greed , ego ,etc etc
I think religion is very important to ones personal life. it can provide you a set of very useful philosophy, from which you can find a easier way to face up to many predicament through out your life. On the other hand, religion has always been one of the basic human needs since the very begining of our hisotry. There are still so many things in this world that can not be explainable or understandable by commonsense, even in this 21 century of fairly developed scince and technology.
