Last time I told you the story of my nephew who went for fun on his own and we were all worried about him. He did return home at long last, saying he got lost after school when trying to find his way home seeing that his mother did not arrive at the gate of the school as usual.
But I know he was lying. He could return his home without any outside aid at late night or early hour in the morning to be exact, it means he really knows the right way home.
He might have had some problem in his brain in his development. His learning is so bad that I think the teachers have given him up. He is alienated by his teachers and classmates.
But he likes English very much, and he can speak good English even some of the things he says are beyond his understanding. He likes to repeat the parts of the text that interest him time and time again, sometimes even send his voice messages through WeChat to us or other relatives and friends of his parents.
After I met him again I decided to take him to the English Corner, that is a place by the side of a main road of our city, where on weekend there are many English speaking foreigners and local English learners gathering.
My nephew was great in speaking out his mind to the people there in his own voice, though sometimes he could not catch the full meaning of the speakers.
