Lonely Grandmother
2015-12-27

Grandmother refers to my mother's mother. She is about 90 years old.Grandmother nurtures seven offspring, one son and six daughters in her life. But when she is old now and my grandfather has passed away for nearly ten years, she lives herself without anyone else's company.

You can think about a big family with seven children, and then children's children and even the children are parents now.No doubt that when all of my aunts and uncles grows up,they will make up their own families.Maybe you have seen the movie Back to The Twenty Years Old,we all know that when one person get older and older, his phycial condition becomes worse and wrose and many troubles appears. On the other hand, their action is really hard. For my grandma, she stays at home day and night. Her physical condition doesn't allow her to go sightseeing and walk out to buy something for daily life or move to another city where her son lives to live with him. What impressed me so much was that every time I came to visit her or gave her a call, she spoke and didn't mean to have a stop. She talked about the people who i didn't know and things happeded around her in her youth or recently.Though under this circumistance,i just listened carefully until she recongized it was time to end the talk.My dear grandma has two grandsons, both of them are older than me.And they are working now. However, they live with my uncle in another city, due to the busy work and short holiday, hardly can they back to accompany my grandma.

Nowadays, the problem of supporting the old is urgent to be solved.Every person will be old one day,and that time is the time they need someone's company most. From my point of view,i hope we can take care of the old as much as we can,if they get sick,do not pass the buck.We are their children and they spend all of their lives to bring us up,shouldn't we take the responbility to take good care of them when they are old?

(My grandma is fond of Luzhou opera,so i uploaded lots of operas for her before my new term began.)

(Dear grandma, wish her a goo health!)

Very nice. But now, people like your grandma are not many. Youngsters don't like local opera any more. They are only fascinated with pop songs from Hongkong and some English songs from United States, Canada, and United Kingdom. I haven't got a chance to check out Luzhou opera. But I know both Block King Huang Wenjin (太平天国堵王黄文金) of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and his opponent Theatre Commander Bao Chao (清军提督鲍超) of Qing were fond of Luzhou opera when they fought against each other around Wuhu (芜湖) although Huang was originally hailing from Guangxi and Bao was from Sichuan. So, why did they like Luzhou opera? I don't know. Guess there was no other entertainment for them during the 1860's. Kidding. In those days, the art performers of Luzhou opera were never enough and the staff never stable. Wuhu, Liu'an (六安), Huoshan (霍山), Luzhou (Hefei 合肥), Anqing (安庆), Shouzhou (寿州), and Chizhou (池州) were the areas where Luzhou opera was born and developed. But all these places or most parts of them were first captured by Taiping Heavenly Kingdom army on Monday, then were taken back by Grand Canal Viceroy Yuan Jiasan (漕运总督袁甲三) and Anhui Governor Weng Tongshu (安徽巡抚翁同书) on Tuesday, then were occupied by Zhang Lexing's Nian Rebels (张乐行的捻军) on Wednesday, then were controlled by Taiping Heavenly Kingdom's traitor Report King Miao Peilin (太平天国的叛徒、奏王苗沛霖) on Thursday, and then were regained by Xiang Army (湘军) on Friday. Wars never failed to exist one single moment. Oh, sorry, drought was for Saturday whilst locusts were upcoming for Sunday. It was very hard for an opera to grow and develop peacefully and healthfully in such an area. However, artists were artists. They made it. Luzhou opera survived. Of course, another reason is, local people really loved this opera, so did many aliens from other provinces, like Huang and Bao. Thus, you were meant to love it.
