Online education
2014-07-02

Nowadays, with the emerging of the MOOC, online education is ubiquitous in both famous and general universities. In my opinion, this phenomenon has more merits than its disadvantages.

Firstly, online education can in a large way save the cost. As we all know, education cost accounts for a large part of country fiance and family expense, which impose a great pressure on both our country and parents. To this point, I strongly hold that this way can alleviate the tense of atmosphere of the blundering society. Hence, education is not related much to money, instead it is a simple knowledge-sharing Eden.

In addition to the cost-saving advantage, the large resource of online education also plays a strictly utilitarian role in students learning. The online education can supply rich training materials and high quality lessons, so that students can receive the information and share the knowledge from all over the world as much as possible. At the same time, students can get the learning resource through clicking the simple button, which somehow can save their time and energy and have more flexible self arrangements.

Apart from the distinct merits, there are also some blatant disadvantages which we can not close our eyes to. For example, there will be less and even no communication between the students and teachers, which will kill the creativity and self thinking of students. At the same time, because the form of online education is learning by oneself, students will have no chance to interact with the other fellows, which to some degree will hinder the process of acquirement.

In a nutshell, online education really change the way of teaching and has injected the freshness of traditional one. However, we can not ignore the benefits the traditional eduction had produced on us. The best way I think is to combine the two ways to our study in a proper way.
