Visit Beida, Explore the Local Rural Revitalization: SMST NPU PRC
In Feb 2024, a group of undergraduates from School of Marine Science and Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University in North-west China, continued their journey in Beida Village, Dongda Sub-district, Chang’an District, Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province, PR China. They regarded the visit as a social practice organized to explore the accomplishments and difficulties of local rural revitalization.On 22 Feb, with the help of the local villagers committee, they successfully paid a visit to a retired veteran in Beida Village, who is now living on food growing. Through friendly and effective communication, they have learned a lot about the current difficulties faced by Beida farmers. The most challenging problem is that local farmers have few techniques to deal with the impacts of sudden catastrophic weather, which leads to a terrible, irregular and inevitable decrease in their income.
