Pagoda standing on my hometown
(The picture comes from http://www.anqing.gov.cn/) We call it zhen feng (transliteration) pagoda , which is known as the best pagoda in the Yangtze River basin and dates back to 1570 A.D. It is a seven-storey building with octagon cross section, standing 271.5 feet high.Climbing the flights of 168 steps altogether inside it,people can get to the seventh floor where they can see a fine panorama of my hometown that is at the foot of a mountain and beside the Yangtze River and as beautiful as a painting.It is still fresh in my mind that the aged told me that my hometown was a boat and the zhen feng pagoda was the mast when I was a child.What a legend!This article was first published in http://www.bubblews.com
