We have watched too long, and allowed too many times, for incorrigible aggressors and war criminals to lay their bloody hands on the innocent children, women and men of a China that has never threatened their homeland, and yet get the worst of their viciousness and violence. |
Sun Zi's dictum that the highest achievement in the Art of War is to make the opponent bow to your will without raising an arm.
Well, this does not always apply, especially to countries that not only have committed mass murder and millions of war crimes, and still worship their ancestors who did precisely that to 35 million Chinese men, women and children who wished them no harm.
Not only that, but their Nazi comrades all over the world are rallying to their "cause", which is nothing short of another Chinese Holocaust.
It is time therefore to update Sun Zi's Art of War to be able to respond rationally and effectively to the monstrous evil baring its fangs at the very doorstep of China.
We can learn from the history of the Long March and the events leading to its occurrence.
The forces of Jiang, who obtained secret support from PM Tanaka of Japan prior to his attempt to stamp out the Jiangxi commune, illustrate the implacable and persistent behavior of the current Japanese regime in seeking the absolute conquest or total destruction of China. Wave after wave of encirclement, attack, and siege, kept mounting, until finally, the Jiangxi commune collapsed. Fortunately, friendly warlords in Guangdong and Guangxi allowed the retreating forces of the Jiangxi commune to pass through their perimeters without resistance. Today, the whole of China is the modern Jiangxi commune. And today, there is no retreat open to the West, or to the North, and therefore, today, China cannot bank on doing a Long March to save itself if all else fails. Rather, today, China must defend itself, ably, fully, and if necessarily, by conquest, rather than by mere resistance or retreat.
The four stages of defense must be clearly conceptualized.
The first is the stage of resistance. Measures are undertaken to neutralize the aggression of the foe. No more.
The second is the stage of restoration. Measures are undertaken to regain and restore the territory and activities that were lost to external aggression.
The third is the stage of conquest. Measures are undertaken to disable the enemy in his own territory from ever committing aggression again on oneself.
The fourth is the stage of annihilation. Measures are undertaken to totally annihilate the enemy, which is rarely ever needed.
We saw nearly all four stages of defense in the conduct of WWII. I have removed the option of retreat, because unlike in the Long March, the next war against the Fascist forces allows no route of retreat for China. And so far, China, ever since its invasion by the Manchu's, have only practiced the art of resistance and restoration, but by so doing, allows the aggressor to regroup and re-attack with ever greater force, and therefore, China, in order to prevent its being strangulated to death, must adopt the strategy of conquest, just as America had to conquer Japan, and Russia had to conquer Germany, and God forbid, if the Fascist forces do not attempt to annihilate China as a last resort, hopefully, China will not ever have to the same to them.
But since how long ago has China even made paper plans for conquest of a barbaric nation, let alone done any military exercises to know how to do it in actual life? Five hundred years ago? Well, this lost art must be re-perfected, because in the next major war, there will be no Long March, and no Burma Road, but every step taken would have to be forward, toward the enemy, braving his fire, and winning in the end.
Each step requires about three times the power needed to achieve the earlier step. China needs therefore to treble its forces to survive waves upon waves of encirclement and attack. China needs to learn once again, the art of conquest of a barbaric country, in its DEFENSE, and to preserve its PEACE.
