I don't see anything special in her decision, as of right now, let's say. She might quit her nun life tomorrow and go back to her home and for sure he will not make the headlines so I don't se what is so amazing about it. Hundreds of common citizens decide every year to become monks or nuns!

I don't think she wastes her parents' money. Knowledge is necessary for everyone, and it will together with college life, influence one's thoughts and behaviour.
