There was no Japanese hurt or killed. The Chinese directed their anger at shops and factories rath ...

A Japanese car was trashed by a mob. The driver, who was Chinese, got throttled.   Hot water was dumped on a Japanese dining in a restaurant.   Luckily, no one was killed, but the mob actions in China were just as shameful and uncivilized.
Japanese harmed during the recent riots were not the Japanese fascists who committed mayhem during the war.   Right-wingers like Ishihara and Tamagami would have been more appropriate targets.  Fueling hatred toward average Japanese people only makes them turn hawkish and you end up with more enemies  in the world.

Serius criticism on Riots. If there's problem, there's way to solve in a friendly way. Whenever this kind of riots happen, mostly the common people hurt,  Only the stirers get.

As it goes, Vietnam may pay a very price economically than China, but China lose its international image and the opportunity for regional leadership.
The Chinese govt/media should urge its people to hold on the situation, wait for coming days and week to see VN govt genuinely restore peace and order. Pulling out investments or a complete stop in tourism to VN is going to hurt VN and hurting China in its loss of a friendly neighbour. The extensive damage by the people of VN on the industrial park factories was more of a timely result for employees to vent their frustration or dissatisfaction and hence targeted not just the chinese owned factories.  If this is not dealt with firmly by VN govt the people in VN is going to suffer for many years to come. Insurance may not insure against riots or push up premiums that investors find their profit margin getting thinner and thinner. It all has a snowballing effect. If this situation can be capitalized genuinely with a pure heart to deal with the issue both will enjoy prosperity well.....and leave the 2 govt to meet urgently and come up with a commercial thence political solution to these few rocks.  Either country insisting they are right and fail to accept the other party opinion will end up with a historically long battle to be inherited by generations to come.

Excuse me my friend Cybor,

would you accept that Westerners call Chgina a "third-rate country"? I ...

If you regard the Chinese as arrogant towards other nations then what do you call the other nations who gang up and engage in warfare to secure their interests?
(mostly harmless)
