History has been made that the ancient Europeans conquered the North and South Americas, just as history has been made that  ancient China conquered many islands in the South China Sea.
You can say that these waters are colonial waters of China, just as Canada, U.S. and many Central and South American countries are colonial lands of the Europeans.
