The differences between cultures can often be exaggerated because it seems more fun that way.
Most of the things in this list are as true / untrue as they are in the West. No-one likes to be embarrassed, it's better to be humble, it's better to bring a gift when visiting someone's house and so on.

Of course it's good advice for a visitor to do these things, but the implication that chinese people never break these rules is way off. e.g. on public displays of anger, I saw this week a woman yelling at a waitress and getting so angry that tears were starting to flow, and for why? Because they would not provide dressing for her salad!
