As her friend is French what makes you think she is suitable as a teacher of English?

She is unlikely to get a visa, things have tighten up due to a glut of unemployed Chinese graduates.

Visas are now normally rejected for new graduates with no work experience even if they have been offered a job in China. I have a Spanish friend that this has happened to

Oh, I just noticed that. So sorry. But if this  French girl can speak good English , then I think the possibilities of finding a teaching job in China are still higher than other potential job openings. I'm told that some Chinese English training schools are delighted to hire foreign teachers, no matter they are Americans or Britons or not; it's a big plus or calling-card for  training schools having foreign teachers.

Foreign language teaches are expected to be native to the language they teach.

True, or to have a Univ degree to teach a language if different from their native tongue.

Problem is we have scores of English training schools in China even in small Chinese cities, and it's telling that you can hardly find any able-bodied foreign teachers from English-speaking nations in most English training school located in small cities. . As a result, such training centers have come up with a solution: hire local foreign expats looking for  plum and cushy  jobs without pondering their educational background or nationality.  And that explains why you can even find African teachers impersonating American teachers  in some Chinese cities, thanks to insatiable demand for English teachers from America.

  In other words, some English training schools  in China don't really pay attention to a foreign job applicant's education  and upbringing. The same thing goes true with many Chinese English learners; they just want to find American teachers or even people looking like foreigners to teach them English, according to an article published  none other than by  China Daily. In addition,  they'd love to spring for costly English training sessions or join such events that mostly take place in big cities l, where they will be able to talk to American teachers and  several big-name Chinese teachers who have become celebrities  and household names for  Chinese English learners.

  In most cases, it's sheer jiggery-pokery; sometimes,  it's just the handiwork of  marketing and public relations.  You could call it -the English training session- a big bash for English learners, a chance for them to find  like-minded friends whilst the training schools that offer  such training sessions  and their teachers walk away with the pickings at length.
