One, capital punishment is not for revenge, it is a message to potential criminals that they won't get away with their crimes if they dare to.

Two, death penalty definitely stops hideous crimes, otherwise other penalty like 10 or 20 years in prison wouldn't be able to stop any crimes, which would mean judicial system in west was garbage.

To use the numbers in US is ridiculous, as it is "OK" to kill one or two, even you kill lot more, you will still be safe for 15 years at least. Those who "feel so good about themselves" is at the cost of bloods of innocent people.

If you believe we should avoid mistakes at any cost, why don't you convince people stopping driving cars, which kills tens of thousands of people each year?

1.) Deterrence ?

Look at China. China continous to execute (murder) people on broad scale.

Any end in side ? No, it will go on, and on for the years to come.

Which means, that those Chinese criminals are quite "stubborn" or else it means, that your claim of deterrence is a hollow claim.

2.) Your point "two" has been answered in my response to your no. "one" already. Severe crimes in China continues unabated.

There have been dozens of major studies of capital punishment and it's deterrent value and not one study showed that capital punishment was a deterrent for any form of crime.

The fact is that people will kill each other, will steal, will assault and will commit mass murder (serial killers) for hundreds of reasons.  One thing that is well documented is that applying the death sentence in the majority of cases has no effect other than sating the blood lust of the wronged.

I have three questions for you.

Have you ever seen someone murdered up close? By close I mean within a few meters (10 or less) of someone at the time of their murder?
Have you ever witnessed an execution?
Have you ever been caught in crossfire or been to a warzone in any capacity?

I look forward to your answers.

So you are in favor of lifetime room and board for even the most vile of mass murders?
Maybe you can come by and read to them. Bring them some treats and see if you can
make them smile.
If capitalism promotes innovation and creativity then why aren't scientists and artists the richest people in a capitalist nation?

1. China does not drop bombs off the sky at mid of the night and send drones to kill and murder in ...

#1 is a valid point

#2 - Statistically most murderers only commit one murder or crime.  Serial killers I feel should be executed, along with repeat sex offenders and for certain other crimes.

4) Not quite true about Japan. The Yakuza go to prison regularly these days and Japanese prison is very rigid and there is no tolerance to violence there. Organised crime in Japan is a very complex beast, with many of the groups not tolerating drug trafficking while others encourage it. Like most things in Japan it's weird to westerners.

5) Not true, In the USA since the mid 1990s nearly 80 death row inmates have been released after DNA matching proved they were innocent of the crimes they were convicted for.  The USA has a very poor track record with regards to incarcerating innocent people. In many parts of the USA being the "wrong colour" and being near a crime scene is often enough to get you charged with a crime. I am not saying all are innocent but a good percentage of those convicted are innocent.

It's good that China doesn't use drones and other filthy means of murdering innocents. However to be fair China is not involved in any wars of aggression and traditionally has not invaded it's neighbours very often, the reason for this is the almost non stop state of civil wars that have raged in China for a couple of thousand years, rebellions, dynastic fighting etc.

Common sense :

People in wealth society are less likely to commit crimes.

Don't you know that?
