No. CPC allows a certain emphasis to occur about these insignificant islands to divert Chinese publi ...
THE VALUE OF DIAOYUDAO TO CHINA IS THAT IT REPRESENTS THE TRUTH OF CHINA'S SOVEREIGNTY. China is not that interested in the oil and gas as the West likes to portray China, as a greedy island grabber. China has been governing this group of islands and their surrounding waters for centuries, long before the world knew what is petroleum or natural gas. On the contrary, the West is interested in wresting Diaoyudao from China, because of the oil and gas in the surrounding sea floor, because of its strategic location for maritime defense, and because it represents the sovereignty of China that MUST in its estimate, be trivialized into an oil wildcatting expedition, to be countered by firm, solemn, inflexible Japanese sovereignty.
Those who trivialize Diaoyudao as useless rocks not worth a fight are actually trying to diminish China's sovereignty into a matter of no importance.
No way, Diaoyudao will be the Gibraltar of Chinese sovereignty in all of the seas and oceans that abut its coast lands. As a symbol of Chinese sovereignty, Diaoyudao is worth the sacrifice of an entire nation to defend and to win back. It is better to fight and lose, than to lose without fighting, for the right of China to be a sovereign country.
