The convergence of hostile forces against the maritime sovereignty of China and Taiwan which share the same exact footprint in the South China Sea and East China Sea cannot be held in check by the strength of one side of the strait alone. Both sides must join forces or they shall surely be bitten to death separately by these piranhas. One day after a Taiwanese fisherman was killed inside the EEZ of the ROC/PRC, a Chinese mainland fishing boat was harrassed by foreign governmental vessels within China's EEZ in the South China Sea. And all the while, the Japanese indirectly threaten a nuclear war on China using their Joint Defense Treaty if China dares so much as defend its fishermen against Japanese harrassment on Diaoyudao or its surrounding waters.
Over 70% of all Taiwanese are in favor of a joint defense of the South China Sea, together with the Chinese mainland, and this should be absolutely natural, as the two sides tolerate each other like their own in exploiting the South China Sea, while both sides experience barbaric treatment by foreign countries, ranging from murder to wholesale confiscation of their fishing boats and sources of livelihood.
Say "No" to this humiliation of two centuries!
No more stories of the Sick Taiwanese or the Sick Chinaman of Asia. This Sick Man of Asia is ready to defend its people and its territory. All President Ma has to say is, "It is time the two sides of the strait must unite to defend each other", and China will respond with a military-to-military meeting that will set forth the methods of their united defense. This has nothing to do with political reunification, but will be a positive step towards it because it will prove once and for all that China has no intention of invading Taiwan, unless Taiwan was subverted and taken over by a foreign power first.
President Ma, if not here, where? If not now, when? If not you, who else?
