A f r a i d   i s   t h e   n a m e   o f   t h e   g a m e .

All human affairs are driven by greed and fear.

Dont tell me about who should have control over some rocks.
I've made my living, Mr. Thompson, in large part as a gambler. Some days I make twenty bets, some days I make none. There are weeks, sometimes months, in fact, when I don't make any bet at all because ...

TRUE LEADERS CANNOT HAVE FEAR OR GREED BECAUSE THEY NO LONGER SERVE THEMSELVES.

Fear and greed are the passions of the ordinary people.  Leaders should have chosen to do what is best for the country.  Once that choice has been made, what is good for oneself should vanish forever.  And when one is no longer concerned about one's own welfare, fear and greed no longer sways you.

This is why China's greatest leaders who have evolved beyond personal self-interest, are not influenced or deterred by fear or greed.  They do whatever is best for the country, which is why China is where it is today.  The sacrifices of blood, sweat and tears of the past generation created the fertile ground of present day growth and development.

When Ma is influenced by fear or greed, he should remember what happened in the movie Mei Hua, to the handsome sycophant to the Japanese army, his would be girl friend told him, "Look at others (like the Quan Jia Fu patriotic fishermen who risked life and fortune for the honor of their country), and then look at yourself."

Fighting over some rocks.

That is what foolish leaders and their foolish followers do.

Nothing better to do than to fight over some foolish rocks?
