Firstly China is buying foreign car brands and controlling the companies, for example Rover and MG ...

Not all Chinese cars, but most, though China is buying several foreign car brands.

I for see that in the not too distant future there will be more famous name car companies under Chinese ownership.

hehe..
I did the comparison between road transportion and rail transportion.

Sadly for a lot of China rail is the only transport option, the distances being to great to use the roads and the cost being too high to fly. Many have no option but to use the railways.

I believe the central gorvernment`s intent to reform of China MOR is not because the redundancy of tain-related industry, but MOR`s dual-Identity in railway industry  and railway business.
they are three major business that is closely related to railway industry, namely. Research and development business, manufacturing business such CNR,CSR and railway infrastructure  construction business such CREC, CRCC. China has made many achievements in these fields during the last decade.

Presently Chinese domestic demand for railway development is ascending due to the fact that passenger and cargo railway line investment is steadily kept by central and provincial fund injections. what`s more, more and more Chinese railway related companies now also focus on global demand and have made excellent reference recently. there will be more and more railway business under negotiation between China-Africa, China-South Asia, China Mid east. These regions need Chinese engineering service and railway products for the simple reason, Chinese engiveering service and products are up to their standards but less price than that from North Amerca and EU.

China is a continental sized nation.
Distances are rather far.
Unlikely that rail will be main form of distance travel.

More likely FLIGHTS, than rail.
Obviously, Major CONTINENTAL FREIGHT movement will probably be RAIL BASED.
