Glass Gem corn

C1.png

This beautiful variety of corn looks like a cob full of precious glimmering gemstone beads.

Unlike sweet corn, Glass Gem is not edible right off the cob. It is a flint corn suitable for making flour or as a popping corn.

Romanesco broccoli

RB1.png

Also known as Roman cauliflower, this cool-looking vegetable is an example of a natural fractal, with each stem arranged in a logarithmic spiral.

Tastewise, it's sweeter, nuttier and less bitter than cauliflower or broccoli.

Cape broccoli

PB.png

Cape broccoli is very similar to its more commonly seen green colored variation. Also known as Purple cauliflower, its purple tint is caused by the presence of the antioxidant group, anthocyanin. This vegetable is low in fat, but is high in fiber, folate, water and vitamin C.

Consumption of broccoli and cauliflower has been linked to lower risks of prostate cancer.

Not very appetizing or natural…..

Hope to find some of those glass gem popping corn in the near future, see if they'll turn into multicolored popcorn
... and also those cool broccoli, always like to eat cruciferous veggies, steamed and lightly seasoned, as side dish for a slice of juicy broiled steak …. yummy.
