This way, would destroy US's pivot to Asia scheme by destroying the puppets' economies

1)Boycott Japan's Car and electronics
2)Bring inflation to Vietnam by printing a bunch of fake Vietnamese monies.
3)Stop tourism to all both countries.

“Every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud, adopts as a last resource pride in the nation to which he belongs; he is ready and happy to defend all its faults and follies tooth and nail, thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.”
― Arthur Schopenhauer

“Nationalism is an infantile thing. It is the measles of mankind.”
― Albert Einstein

“Patriotism in its simplest, clearest and most indubitable signification is nothing else but a means of obtaining for the rulers their ambitions and covetous desires, and for the ruled the abdication of human dignity, reason, conscience, and a slavish enthrallment to those in power.” Leo Toystoy

“It is lamentable, that to be a good patriot one must become the enemy of the rest of mankind.” Voltaire

“To abolish war it is necessary to abolish patriotism, and to abolish patriotism it is necessary first to understand that it is an evil. Tell people that patriotism is bad and most will reply, ‘Yes, bad patriotism is bad, but mine is good patriotism.’” Leo Tolstoy
I may disagree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it - Voltaire

Do not view Vietnam and Philippines as enemies. They are both present problems not cancerous eternal enemies. Infact both are precious friends to China which is why the US has to pry them away. So don't fall for US' scheme.

China must not put to waste its effort in having helped unified Vietnam but this doesn't mean China can take for granted that there is a debt to be repaid. This effort should form the basis of China's sincerity in forging a solid relation with Vietnam - an unbreakable one. Conversely US hurt Vietnam very badly. Logically China has advantage over US in engaging Vietnam. China and Vietnam must work vigorously for enduring peace and there is enough incentive for Vietnam to do just that.

Philippines is a case where China too must work harder to win over. Destruction doesn't win an ally, just look at Afganistan and Iraq, they will not seek enduring relations with US. Philippines need to change not just for China but more for Asean. Asean cannot be strong if any one member is more pro-US than pro-Asean. Eventually such a country will sell Asean's interest out - a foregone conclusion. Maybe there are one or two other countries in Asean that are 100% pro-US, more so than Philippines is but on the surface they don't show. Phillippines being overt in its action can be considered the better part. If there are those in disguise they are even more dangerous. China should be patient in looking for opportunities to pull Philippines into its fold. It is not such dire situation that China needs to show muscles to Philippines. In history Philippines hardly conquered another country but itself has been conquered by the Spanish, the US before suffering Japanese invasion and occupation for three years. Here Philippines share common ground with China and for the Philippines, China is in essence its best defence partner. Thus China should not waste its gifted position in the Philippines' heart. Bear in mind the US provided assylum to their once denounced dictator but China never did. What China could do is to ramp up its co-operation with all the Pacific island nations including the Philippines to demonstrate the will for peaceful co-existence and co-operation. If China can co-operate effectively with the 20 or so South Pacific island nations, there is no reason why Philippines should not ask itself where it has lagged.

If China wants good China-Asean relationship China cannot destroy Vietnam and Philippines. Its a challenge but challenge is a mark of China's prowess. China must learn how to accomodate others and adopt to a degree others' values. This will help China substantially.

As for Japan. Probably the fundamentals of its more than 300 years old ideology is wrong. So it is not so easy for Japan to get back into the right path. Viewing itself as much more superior than China explains why it silently modernised itself in the 19th century with the aim of conquering and presiding over Asia especially China. Let them basked in that notion if that makes them feel good but they won;t be able to do the right thing. By not genuinely respecting China's rights, Japan can't possibly respect any other Asian's. US had nuked Japan devastatingly - TWICE and China has never even shot one rocket into Japan until today. So why are the Japanese so accomodating towards US but not China? Why are the Japanese not beating back the US instead they are only interested in demoning China? Of course Japan will not admit its hope of presiding over China or conqueringtoday but its telling from its actions over the last 80 years. Japan is not admitting its atrocities in WWII and is not admitting that a lesser equipped China defeated it eventually. The right thing for China to do is to practice Confucianism to have patience in enhancing its on creativity, morality, compassion, knowledge, economy etc. If China regards itself a leader in its own right then it cannot follow the footsteps of Japan.

As with US. No war. Its a question of meeting of minds and trusts. But these takes time, so be patient.
