Indeed.

However I would urge you to consider the fact that the PRC leaders ARE in the most advant ...

Most of the time, the leaders at the top have the best and most complete information of what is really going on.  But, they are also the most wanted targets of disinformation, disloyalty, bribery and blackmail.  As the history of modern China has shown, sometimes the latter can offset the former in an overpowering way, as in how Li Hongzhang sold out China, how the Beiyang and warlords continued the sell out China after the Manchu regime was overthrown,  and how the Chiang clqiue continued to sell out China after the warlords were overthrown, often to Japan if not to their own pockets, or both, as in the inexplicable delay between 1931 and 1937 of waging a war of resistance against the Japanese invaders.  Those shameless years of lying prostrate while Japan consolidated its hold on Manchuria and Korea, expanding its Kwantung Army until it was ready to take over all of China, were under the supposedly well-informed and wise leadership of father-figure Chiang and his clique.  He had to be forced by his most trusted aide, Zhang Xueliang, to pick up his cudgels and fight the Japanese, while he was concentrating on fighting the "western" influence of communism all the time.  The Japanese have consistently and single-mindedly derailed China's leadership, and caused China's greatest and most inexplicable defeats in war and incomprehensible concessions in peace, especially when they are acting as their own masters, as in 1894, 1931, ane 1937, in case an appeal is being made for another of their propaganda cover-ups of Asia for Asians.  After the Rape of Nanking, Chinese people were flooded with propaganda papers showing a brotherly Japanese soldier holding a Chinese baby in one of his arms, while he was offering a sack of rice with his other arm, a true brother Asian country.  Japan is not a brother Asian country, we should remember vrey clearly.  While western countries also attacked and invaded China, Japan's infiltration, subversion, corruption and carnage of China was ten times worse than anyone's in all of China's history.

Wise and honest leadership is a worthy goal to aspire for in every generation, but in the end, it is the people who have the ultimate responsibilty of trying to understand what is happening to them and deciding what they must do to defend themselves.

Were it not for this fact, that the people must be responsbile for their future, there would not have been the Chna of today.

None others know better than the Chinese in China who have lived under foreign occupation, that it is better to die standing on one's feet than to live crawling on one's knees.

Deng Xiaoping had to repeatedly, repeatedly remind his peers and surbordinates that it is impossible to solve problems and lead the people without extraordinary courage.  Exceptional knowledge and intelligence are pre-requisites to any top position.  But in a position of leadership, of making the hardest, toughest, biggest decisions, one must have the greatest courage, the most confidence in himself and his country, to face the unknown, and put everything and all into the effort.

The challenge of Japanese occupaton of Diaoyudao is not any smaller than the Japanese invasion of Korea.  Any naval battle over Diaoyudao will go down in the annals of history as no less important than the Battle of the Yellow Sea (or Yalu River).  It was the event that showed the world how strong or weak China really was.

That loss has not been reversed for more than a hundred years.  China has remained a weakling in naval power, compared to Japan, even after Japan lost WWII.  That loss must now be reversed, or China will face further waves of invasion and occupation of its many islands in the South China Sea and East Sea, not to speak of its coastal cities, one day.  The failure of China to evict the Japanese from Diaoyudao by now, more than a month after Japan officially "nationalized" Diaoyu, is a wake up call that China's military is far weaker than it admits.  Most likely, it had problems of lacking arms, munitions and logistics, due to poor planning, possible graft, or lack of discipline.  If China fights, it loses.  If it does not fight, it loses.  So, is China therefore lost?

The Three Realities of Diaoyudao

China must eventually accept Japan's challenge to a War of the East Sea over Diaoyudao and win.  There is no peaceful solution except surrender.  And there is no military solution except victory.

My take:

1. "
If China fights, it loses."

It means China is not prepared for the fight. The "think-tanks" in China are nothing more than "drink-tanks". China deserves what it gets. Becomes too complacent from top to bottom in the leadership!!!

2. " If it does not fight, it loses. "

Running away from a fight is pure COWARDICE. The PLA should be disbanded and the soldiers be sent to the country-side to be farmers to feed the poor. What would be the wisdom of a country of having an army which can't or afraid to fight?

You are absolutely right. It is time for China to walk the talk ..........

Updated: 2012-09-11 02:20 By Li Xiaokun and Zhang Yunbi ( China Daily)

Premier Wen Jiabao said China will "make absolutely no concession" on territory after Japan's decision on Monday to "nationalize" the Diaoyu Islands.

My take:

1. " If China fights, it loses."

WE FOUND THE ENEMY, AND IT WAS OURSELVES.

The Chinese people are lucky to have the advantage of hindsight in learning from the history of its defeat by Imperial Japan in 1894, and its traitor-engineered surrender of vast territories in the Treaty of Shimonoseki in 1895, which opened the eyes and avarice of all foreign powers to steal a part of an already moribund China, put on sale for butchering and quartering by its own chief minister and chief marshall, Li Hongzhang.  Never before in human history had there been such a massive, thorough corruption of a government by another country.  Sun Yatsen and many patriots saw the imminent demise and division of China and had to pick up the fight with their bare fists.  We cannot thank him enough for his courage and his vision.  The courage and sacrifice of the 72 heroes and heroines of Huang Hua Kang should never be forgotten.

Because of the warnings coming from netizens who are better informed than others, China has the privlege of seeing its present failings in the mirror of her own history, and hold back its horse from galloping off the cliff of a naval war with Japan in the East Sea over Diaoyu island.  Seeing how few and ill-equipped its war ships are, there is little chance of China winning  a naval battle.  China was over-confident and under-prepared in 1894 when it went to war with Japan in the Yellow Sea and lost more than half of its fleet.   China today was also over confident and under prepared in 2012, but did not go to war with Japan in the East Sea -- this is smarter and more realistic, but nevertheless uncovered a big internal problem she needs to solve with all seriousness and haste.

What the government has a hard time explaining is where all the money had gone to supposedly building up its armed forces, that compared to a defeated Japan of WWII, remains relatively poorly armed, and probably also poorly trained and poorly supplied.  It is doubtlful that China can rush through reinforcements to its frontline forces if the latter should be surrounded or fall back in retreat.   This makes for poor morale.

The Diaoyu dilemma is not just Japan being greedy and belligerent.  It uncovered an internal problem of poor allocation and accounting of resources that should have long ago built a naval power more than capable of protecting its sovereign territory, but also capable of warning Japan to not even think of taking any of her islands or face a direct response to her own home turf.  The problem seems pretty deep, and will take quite some time to cure.

China should stop pretending it can retake Diaoyu, and instead do a thorough checkup of itself, from the top down, in the military and in the civilian sides of its government, and face the nation in a responsible, accountable way, so that true reform of its mistakes can take place.  Let Diaoyu be the gall that China will lick every morning when it awakens, to remind itself of its past failings and shame.  Only in so doing and in correcting its past mistakes, will it eventually be able to defend itself adequately, and retake Diaoyu in due time.
