After a lawyer had sent an application, Shanxi provincial gov denied to open that official' salary to the public in Oct 2, 2012.

In China's fedual age, people could know an official's salary.
In today's China, after the official had told us that his salary was 170,000 yuan a year, why the provincial gov still refuse to confirm the official's salary?

China shouldn't belong to the CPC - it should belong to the Chinese people. And if you own a company, you will also know what you pay your employees.

I don't think people should know every Jiao that government officials earn privately with their own businesses- but they should know how much they are paying to them with their taxes.

The latest news reports:
1. Shanxi official said that the amount of each local gov official's salary is decided by laws and regulations published by central government. Local gov didn't give any illegal or extra salary to local officials.

The local gov still refused to publish the salary of that high rank official, though the salary, which revealed by that high-rank official himself, apparently far higher than the same other rank officials around China.

2. The local official confirmed that high-rank official had been found to deposit his money seperately into nearly 20 banks.
