The problem here is that Yang is a public acting figure, and the tool of propaganda of China towards foreigner. Now that he showed that all "harmony and respect" is a pretence. He lost face.

Very difficult for me to confirm this. To me it seems more a  Japan during the 50s or 60s but I do not deny that it could still happen today. I have never experienced something like this but then again, I'm no female.

Anyhow, trembling because of the boss seems to me exaggerated in the reality of the 21st century.

Yang Rui wrote those in his personal microblog, not in his program. It's strange those who advocates freedom of speech can't tolerate his words. If foreigners want respect from the people of your host country, abide the law and respect the local people. What goes around comes around.

I agree. Obeying and respecting the laws of the host country is the key to peaceful and harmonious cohabitation. Nobody can expect to be above the law and if a person cannot or does not want to follow this simple rule he or she better leaves the country and returns to where the pastures are greener (in the person's opinion).

I agree with the part about abiding the law and respecting people. I also agree completely with "What goes around comes around." Which bring me to the next point.

As a Journalist, and especially a well known and respected one, people will judge China by what Yang Rui says, just as if a leader had said it, after all Journalists report, they are incredibly powerful in their own ways and through their speech and writing, whether official or personal, they influence the world we all live in.

Having a personal opinion is fine, however, when in a position of power, discretion is very advisable. What is going to happen when Mr. Yang Rui must interview someone who has read his statements and was offended? Will he take the opportunity to be rude to them? Or will he choose to be a silk tongued diplomat revealing himself to be not just opinionated but also two faced.

It is a silly thing to do, regardless of his personal opinions.
