People concerns about China and Philippine will solve disputes in this area by using military force since the situation seems getting worse and worse. War seems could happen at any moment between China and Philippine.
Let’s check about hotspot can almost cause the serious conflicts between the Asian Giant and an Archipelago country.
Huang Yan Island is located in South China Sea, 15°11′N 117°46′E. And the highest point of Huang Yuan can only reach at 3 metres.

The island is more correctly described as a group of islands and reefs in an atoll shape than a shoal, is located between the Macclesfield Bank and Luzon Island of Philippines in the South China Sea. To the east, the 5,000 – 6,000 meter deep Manila Trench separates the shoal from the Philippine archipelago.

Errrrr, we just see a bunch of rocks in picture of Huang Yan Island.
No people, no birds, no freshwater and even hardly place a bed on the rocks.
A war fights for a bunch of rocks? Really?
Oh, wait a minute, Philippine President Aquino wants to something to say:

According to Bloomberg, Philippine President Benigno Aquino said he’s open to an agreement with China that would allow companies to exploit oil and gas resources while the governments separately resolve South China Sea border disputes.

Aquino said his administration may split the issues to “have a political discussion on one side” and “have commercial issues on another side,” speaking in a May 4 interview at Malacanang Palace in Manila. “So long as our sovereignty is respected, we are open to partner with them.”

Aquino, 52, has championed the Philippine territorial claims even while saying the country can’t compete militarily with China, which trails only the U.S. in defense spending. A war over the resources would leave the Philippines in tatters and ordinary people would suffer, he said.

“We now have an energy source within the region, not subject to the current turmoil that is being experienced and has to be completed in the Middle East,” Aquino said. “Doesn’t it redound to everybody to get these resources online at the soonest possible time?”

So, is it means Mr. Aquino wants to make a concession with China? The answer might be “yes”, because China and the United States want to achieve “2C” after the fourth round of China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogue.
Aquino is so tricky  to end the meaningless tragic war before it happens.
Life is hard; it's harder if you're stupid.
