America is not "The west". America is a country.

There is almost no gun crime where I come from. I have never seen a gun, let alone ever seen one let off. Nor do we have mass murderers on a scale that China does. The Hunan killer wiped out 60 people and raped 20 odd befofre he was caught. It would sure make BIG news back home if something of this scale ever happened, but it was hushed up in China. It is well known that media in China are told not to report various violent crimes, e.g. killings in kindergartens. The principal of a Chinese kindergarten in Shanghai was killed at the school not long ago. It was never reported in the news. My friend's daughter goes to the school, so I know all about it.

In the US you can simply buy guns in the shopping mall. But it is also a matter of culture, for instance at the parking lot of a Korean supermarket, you may find (Korean) guards with stenguns.

Three days later...
---------------------------------
LAMOINE, Maine (AP) — Gunfire erupted outside a home in a small coastal town in Maine early Sunday, killing one man
and leaving three others wounded, state police said as they worked to determine what led to the violence and who
pulled the trigger.

Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said Lawrence "Randy" Sinclair, 32, of Ellsworth, died
at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor on Sunday, hours after being shot, along with the others, outside a home
in Lamoine.

Authorities said Torrey Garland, 34, of Ellsworth, was hospitalized in life-threatening condition. Also injured in
the shooting were Michael Carter, 30, of Lamoine, and Joshua McKinney, 35, of Ellsworth. Officials say the injuries
to Carter and McKinney are not considered life-threatening. McKinney was in an Ellsworth hospital but the others
were taken to EMMC.

The shootings took place at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday at the single-family home of Carter and Tacy Mullins, 22.

Detectives were investigating the circumstances of the shootings to see if they lead to a suspect, McCausland said.
A fifth man also was at the house at the time was not injured. Police did not identify that man.

This made the national news because Maine is a sparsely populated state where crimes like this are not as common.
These types are stories happen every day across American in the larger urban areas.

Guns are the favorites by men, just as their attitude towards cars, and expecially by those whose characteristics are agressive and combative.
yes, we should adhere to the policy of gun restrictions, after all, we are not in a country like the US or some western nations.
just as someone upstairs said that walking on the street in China is much safer than in the US.

if we are talking about Gun crime then one needs to realize that gun laws have never stopped gun related crime for one simple reason , criminals who commit gun crime do not obey the law , it is such a simple concept to grasp but many governments fail to understand , the best way to stop gun related crime is make the punishment severe , mandatory 5 years jail for any offense committed with a firearm , second offense life imprisonment , further trouble while in jail would result in execution , I would hazard a guess and say that China probably has very severe penalties for gun related crime that's why most Chinese criminals use knifes .
There are no Ugly women , only those with low self esteem .

if we are talking about Gun crime then one needs to realize that gun laws have never stopped gun rel ...

How about China has far, far fewer guns than the U.S.
Thanks to the NRA and gun lovers the U.S. is so saturated with hand guns that anyone can
easily get one. In China it's not nearly as easy to get a gun so there's far fewer gun murders.
It's too late for the U.S.  Too many gun lovers can't live without their favorite phallic symbol.
In China its just a matter on keeping them illegal and cracking down on anyone disobeying the
gun laws that are now in place.
If capitalism promotes innovation and creativity then why aren't scientists and artists the richest people in a capitalist nation?
