So the US army had bases there in WW2 and the USMC had bases in NZ at that time too. Your point is what....that the US can't have bases where it wants or that you're just a wee bit paranoid?

Those who voiced up are from the PLA are expert military strategists by their own rights. They know what they are talking about. Of course, the US has the right to establish a military base down under. Likewise, it is also the right of the PLA to read the real intentions of the U.S. vis-a.vis. and be concerned.

Hello Xie Feng,

With the eventual withdraw of NATO forces in Afghanistan, does China have a plan to build up any security forces to protect their interests there?  Do you see problems dealing with the Taliban and have they made any assurances that construction workers will not be targets of attacks or more kidnappings?  Will there be a wider cooperation with regional powers such as Russia & India to help bring stability back to Central Asia?
