I just came back from a 7-day trip to Chengdu and Jiuzhaigou Valley

Day 1: Completely wasted, as the fog in Beijing delayed our flight. (We were lucky, I heard 320 flights were cancelled).

Day 2: Visit The Giant Panda Breeding Research Institute. My first time to see real pandas. They are so adorable. If there was a next life, be a panda, You would be treated as Kings.
Day 3: Shopping and local food sampling. There are so many kinds of local specialties that are enough for me to try for a month. I wished that I had an extra mouth. The Hot Pot was superb. If you love spicy food, that's the place you ought to go.

Day 4: On the way to Jiuzhaigou Valley. It was snowing lightly. The roadside view was great as mountains were flashing back the bus window. We saw a lot of 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake remains and relics. The tour guide was professional and told us some quake stories.

Day 5: The tour of  Jiuzhaigou Valley. Every step Beautiful scenery comes after every step you take. As the guide said, the first thing you should do after you get to Jiuzhaigou Valley is to charge the battery of your camera, because most likely, it will be running out of power soon.
The scenery can be different in different weather and in different seasons, and you can adire the beauty of nature any time you go.

Day 6: On the way back to Chengdu, we visited Yingxiu County( the devastated quake zone)

Beautiful scenery!
What is the name of the clear water lake in your pictures?
Is it far from Chengdu?
If capitalism promotes innovation and creativity then why aren't scientists and artists the richest people in a capitalist nation?

It's 7or8 hours bus ride. Every lake's water is clear.

You can pay a vist if you have time. I recommend you go after it snows there.

7 to 8 hours on the bus? You'd have to get up awfully early if you wanted much
sunlight left when you got there.
Are there hotels there so you don't have to travel so far before you get your start?
