Sounds like the "lovely mayor" is a typical idiot.

Not really - he's not that smart

International Data Roaming is expensive pretty much any way you cut it.
At least when I was still involved with the EC steps on Roaming Charges (within EU),
the data roaming charges where still just in discussion of "future plans"
Now, I heard, Ms Rehding herself changed Jobs herself.

It reminds me of an english girl in troubles about here Luggage, worried about the resulting phone bill,
when I told her about the just enacted changes, she felt so relieved,
when I reminded her however that it didn't relate to switzerland as non EU member,
she completely bursted out in tears^^

On topic,
with the (non existing) supposed difficulties he speaks of for germans,
it's pretty much more than likely he just attempted to relativise the gfw and other hurdles in china,
by making up stories about supposed conditions in Germany, not the first attempt,
not the first poor attempt in fact.

And I bet he drives an imported Mercedes, Audi, or BMW.  And covers his license plate with a camo cloth when he visits the KTV's.

Is there a term "Ordinary Germany" in Germany daily conversation?

Probably there isn't a clear distinction between government officials and the rest of people in German like the clear distinction between "Ordinary Chinese" and Chinese officials.

People usually talk about "Germany Citizen" more than "Ordinary Germany".

Right or not?

Seems to me the stupidity of Chinese officials is beyond anyone's imagination.
