My post is stuck in the filter.

The seawater will be taken from Bohai Bay, and diverted through Hebei, Inner Mon-golia to XJ.

Part of the water will be desalinated in Inner M for local u ...

And since it's as you say not a brainchild of bensilk, it might actually be discussable.

What to do with all the Salt though,
China already sits on a major part of the world's salt supply
(and yet people were foolish enough to think it could run out of it)

:)

So two projects into one.

This will be very expensive.

Maybe water diversion will be a better and cheaper option.

There were a lot of reports on the subject last November.

A private company from Inner Mongolia had promised to fund the project.

I don't know the current progress of the project. I can't find anything on the Internet.

I had hoped to go to that company to find out how things are going. But can't find time.

Maybe I will make a call to them next week. :)

But no doubt water collection these will be included in the design, after all, it's free.

Raise the charge for water.

With provision for the poor....
say with a free daily allowance of one cubic meteres per household.

No, it is actually the right step to do before any green tax breaks.

It makes the prices more transparent and clear and sets internal market confourmous financial incentives,
this step should be done BEFORE any interference into the market by tax incentives.

Transport it back to the sea, but far away from the coasts.

Prices are the best incentives,

and Water price regulation is certainly also a very interesting topic,

but a very hot one as well.
