In the movement, People like Chen Duxiu and Li Dazhao ----ed more to left and were among the leading founders of the 1921 Communist Party of China.

The May fourth Movement served as an intellectual turning point in China; Western-style liberal democracy had previously had a degree of traction amongst Chinese intellectual, but after the Versilles Treaty (which was viwed as a betrayal China's interests), lost much of its attractiveness.

marxism began to take hold in Chinese intellectual thought, particularly among those already on the Left. It was during this time that communism was studied seriously by some Chinese.

Some Chinese intellectuals referred to this era as the Chinese Renaissance because there was an intense focus on science and experimentation.

From Kuomingtang's (nationalists) perspective, the movement destroyed the postive elements of Chinese tradition and placed a heavy emphasis on direct political actions and radical attitudes, characteristics of the emerging Chinese Communist Party.

The Communist Party viewed the movement more favorably, although remaining suspicious of the early phase which emphasized the role of enlightened intellectuals, not revolution.

One famous slagon in May fourth movement:
Mr De (Democracy) and Mr Sai (Science)
Democracy and Science saved western people from the dark medieval.
If we would support democracy, we have to oppose confuciansim, oppose the old moral guides, old politics;
If we would support Science, we have to oppose the old arts, the old literatures, and the old religions.

It was certainly something very wrong by some of the other allied nations to do to China.
(China had been one of the allies during the Time of Combat of WWI!)

It had also been one reason for the USA to not accept the Treaty of Versailes,
despite not having any disadvatages of it's own from it.

The US stood it's ground against the Wrongs of the Afternath,
and even went as far as leaving the League of Nations as the price.

In my memory, patriot, Mr De, and Mr Sai are all in the chapter of May 4th movement of textbooks.

The views about Wusi movement.
We have never the opportunities to know the views of the father of Pepublic of China, Sun Zhongshan,
the views of the government leader of Republic of China, Jiang Jieshi,
the views of the government of Republic of China.
We only know the views of the government leaders of New Republic of China, Mao Zedong.

If the internet didn't exist,
If I didn't know English (language),
I wouldn't have the opportunity to know the materials in these posts and the  following materials.
