I've looked at the study itself - and the reality is far from what's described. There is no "human-like milk". There is only a single human molecule, which is a far cry from what's being claimed.

The real question is, What are they really doing? I have no doubt that the human-like milk front is an attempt to distract from the real issue: producing patented products from human genetic material.

A spokesman for the Royal Society for the Protection of Animals said ... "Why do we need this milk - what is it giving us that we haven't already got."

Because there's a profit to be made for the producers!

This is wrong on so many fronts .... ethically, morally, naturally.

Non-human animals are sentient beings too. They DO NOT exist for us to use, abuse and genetically modify to suit the cruel selfish desires of some. Time for politicians to put a stop to this abhorrent madness.

What's wrong with just breastfeeding?

It's not just all in the milk and the benefits there - there is the bonding that comes with breastfeeding.

We don't need cows to produce human milk - we can produce our own milk the best!!

This is wonderful. Imagine, we are nurtured with human milk all our lives. Human milk contains less fat and more DHA and other brain enhancing agents. So, let JFenix and his racist klans to enjoy cow milk. We Chinese will drink homo-milk massively produced by cow. Congratulations to the Chinese scientists.

I thought this was being done as a substitute for breastmilk and infant formula?

Infant formula, I agree just does not contain the nutrition that babies need.  I couldn't be more against infant formula.
And substituting this genetically modified milk for something that we already make perfect is not only crazy but it cancels out the other benefit to breastfeeding - the bonding experience.

Young girls do not want to breastfeed because it ties them down to the baby.  They want to still go out with their friends and party - you can't do that breastfeeding.  All the more reason to encourage breastfeeding over bottle feeding.  Those babies need their mothers!!
