China is expected to receive 8 trillion yuan ($1.18 trillion) in financial revenue by the end of 2010, State broadcast CCTV reported on June 28.
If that happens, China will become the second-largest country in terms of revenue income, trailing only the United States.

China's revenue has increased 1000-fold over the past 60 years.  the figure was just 1.9 trillion yuan in 2002, but it climbed to more than 6 trillion and is expectd to hit 8 trillion.

all of us are suprised by the sharp increase of goverment's revenue, comparing with the increasing rate of people's income, just averaged annual 10.6% increasement from 2003.
The increasement of revenue is also much faster than GDP which is less than 10%

What does that mean for china's wealth distribution?
so many wealth come to government not people or society

You must be joking! Mr. Tamson!

The tax revenue is about 21% of the GNP expected in 2010!
The GNP is expected to be US$5.5 Trillion, with per capita income of US$4,200!!!

And with 3% defisit, China expects to spend about US$1.32 trillion!
That make China revenue 10x more than India's expected US$110 billion, and US$150 billion government expenditure in 2010! That makes India inflation to reach almost 6% to 7%, while Military budget almost US$32 billion (or 3% of GNP)!

On the other hand China, with additional defisit spending, domestic credit growth and low inflation - can expect minimum 6% to 10% growth, if Rmb is allowed to appreciate, it'll contain imported inflation! Military budget plus CNSA is not expected to be more than US$120 billion or about 4X bigger than India's!

Food for thought!

ha ha ha

Depends on how we run the state!
and of course what kind of politics is being promoted!
What kind of "hidden agenda" and whether those in charge have TOLERANCE for progress in other regions!

Marvellous!
Great!
Now US$8.000, US$10,000, US$15,000 or US$20,000 per capita income?
Will it be High Tax, High Cost or Market Value prices for citizen consumption?

hmmmmmm

Long way to go, now only expected US$4,200 per capita income!

Wealth in the hand of governments is wealth in the hands of the general public (society). What do you think tax is good for? Without tax no infrastructure, no social development, no defense etc. ect. Of course one can argue about how wealth is distributed but then again, governments are nowhere Robin Hoods.

right!

How lofty idealist you are!
Sure! What about VESTED INTEREST or "pipeline guilds" and their "lobbyist" - example - companies that might not want to "mechanized" as in probably Malayan Plantation guilds as it squeezes margins and passes REVENUE to the engineering and tractor making guilds?

Sure! Are you PRACTICAL or just an IDEALIST!

It's a struggle! China could advanced fast because of President Jiang and his FAR SIGHTED mentality which encourage tolerance, reduce bad temper in China! Even Uncle Deng finally conceded to invest in Guangdong because of TERRIBLE POVERTY!

Wa ha ha ha

Marvellous!
