if Varyag ready by 2012, J-15 naval flanker should  start doing test flight by now.
Maybe when vayag is ready, there won't be any flighters available onboard.  might as well converted varyag to a helicopter carrier like Japan and korea's..

no news, no pictures, nothing.. nada...   

when its comes to do real engineering, Chinese military is always a slacker.  slow learner and implementator.     always few steps behind others.

China probably go leap frogged into J-XX vstol......

don't want to waste money on BIG AIRCRAFT CARRIER, those 80,000 tonnes units....
instead go for 20,000 tonnes dockships, 60,000 tonnes aircraft carrier - 10 units in total....

so LESS BIG TARGET....

ha ha ha

China hasn't done any leapfrogging in its history.  I don't think it has in its system.

They already built the J-11, J-10 and have the J-15 (SU-33).....

Wouldn't be much of the problem.....
Just not building a fleet yet.....

NO NEED...need VSTOL Jet for smaller target battle group!
