US official comes out to declaim they never betrayed the three China-US joint communiqués and they affirm the one-China policy.

Nobody remembers how many times US has said that before. But their words are different from actions. US had promised not seek a long-term arms sale to Taiwan and it would reduce such trade. The truth is the arms they sell become more and more advanced.

As people all around the world know, US foreign policy is ‘carrot-and-stick’. It’s natural because of the power balance between US Congress and President. Congress prefers stick, but the President need carrot to deal with relationships. But it’s a dangerous policy for China. The story of ‘Wolf is coming’ tells Chinese people not to believe those who lie repeatedly.

There is another interpretation for US strategy. US want to make China confused by its policies, in order to obstacle development of China.

WASHINGTON - The United States on Monday reaffirmed its commitment to the one-China policy, saying that it's a commitment that should be the bedrock of the foundation of its relationship with China.

The deputy secretary made the remarks in response to a question about whether the Obama administration remains committed to the one-China policy and the principles of the three China-US joint communiqués.

"So there is no change. It's a commitment that we understand be the bedrock of the foundation of the relationship between the two countries," he added.

The deputy secretary appeared to be quite positive about US- China relationship despite recent troubles between the two countries caused by the announcement of new US arms sales to Taiwan in January and President Barack Obama's meeting with the Dalai Lama in February.

.

Look no farther. Their actions speak louder than their words. Yes, have they ever?

You ask whether the US keeps its word. Ask how it is supposed to hand Taiwan to Bejing when it promised the Nationalist protection from Mao's predations?

Which word shall they keep, the older or the newer? Confess Mainlander: your beloved party fled the Japanese, butchered your own people and then lied to you about it. Taiwan got to sit all that out. Get over it and leave the islanders alone.
