It's pretty self explanatory.

What is 'westerbaiters'? ...

It refers to those fools here who pleasure themselves by baiting westerners through racist provocations.

You should just ignore them.

They are just kids having fun with you.

But:

As you are a self-confessed Kevin Wilson fan.

It would be hard not to put you in the white supremacist category.

The company should apologize for the poisoning. The Chinese government should apologize for getting it wrong.

I think they would like the government to be responsible.

For an individuals action.

Because it is China.

Just double standards and hypocrisy.

i think you will find that it was because the Chinese government authorities carried out a 'scientific' investigation which immediately exonerated China and blamed it on the the Japanese.

What is wrong, then, with the government saying

"We got it wrong. Sorry." ??

It surely is double standards and hypocrisy if they are happy to point the finger of blame and then refuse to apologize when it is shown they are wrong!

As I stated, my answers were presented based on the article in the thread.

I just dug into the updated news as I did not get involved in the original thread.

It seems that this is part of a wider spat between China and Japan.

They want to invite the Japanese to Shanghai, but this matter was unresolved.

With the sudden arrest, Japan is voicing satisfaction.

Who knows there may even be a private/open apology in store.

But just what is the specified time-frame for an apology.

Politics.

Afaik the company has apologized. However, it's really interesting to see that this food scandal gets more attention on this board than in Japanese media. Is there a reason for it?

Because this board is where the ignorant and racist little SHlTs spewed their illinformed bile about the Japanese.
And since they've apparently been proven to be wrong, where are the dirty little pricks now, oh they're out slandering someone else on a topic of which they know fcuk all !!!!
