The problem is corruption!|
And I'm not just talking about Chinese corruption, I'm talking general human nature corruption. The Chinese aren't any different to any race of people on the planet earth. You have to stop thinking that you can somehow do things differently because you are 'Chinese' and somehow different from other humans.
Corruption rules China through years and years and years and generations of running a corrupt controlling system of government. The entire mindset of people is to suck up to the person above you. Offer gifts, bribes, or repress and bully anyone who threatens to take away your own power. This is an ingrained system that is going to take years and years to shake off, just as it has taken years and years to be completely ingrained into the Chinese mindset and way of living life.
All the suggestions written here are all good ones, but they will all fail, because they will all become corrupted because of the current Chinese mindset.
You create an "ombudsman", an independent observer who is going to be outside the government, it will become CORRUPT, there will be gifts handed under the table, there will be blackmail, there will be threats, there will just generally be corruption, and it will break down.
You create a balanced powered media, the same will happen again, there will be gifts handed under the table, there will be blackmail, there will be threats, corruption will take over.
You even create a democratic society, the same thing will happen. It is the Chinese mindset, once, in the 1940s perhaps, the Chinese were still open to a little diplomacy, but that's all been forgotten now, and need many more years to get back into the mindsets of the Chinese again.
It's impossible to create a non-corrupt system. Creating the least corrupt system you possibly can is the key to a powerful country. Tht's why America is so powerful, they are open and transparent. Yes, you see all the corruption that goes on, but that's coz it's open. Imagine if China was as open as America, just IMAGINE some of the stories you would hear! it would be MIND BOGGLING!
So that's what needs to change first, the mindset of the Chinese, then other serious changes can be made.
