If arms sale to Taiwan was just a decades long political Game, US has got its fun last month. If it keep indulge itself in this game, it cannot gain any extra credits but penalty.

US document said French fighters in Taiwan were a pile of scrap iron. How about F-16? It’s not much better. It’ll be washed out in five years? Do you think Taiwan is going to use it in five years?

Obama administration will not sell F-16, but the Congress will use the document to make a farce. It’s just an internal drama play in US, not related to China.

China warns US to be 'cautious' following arms sale

United States' arms sale to Taiwan has "severely damaged" China's national security and core interest, the Ministry of Defense said on Thursday, urging Washington to be "cautious" in its wording and actions.

Senior Colonel Huang Xueping, the ministry's spokesman, said China is "highly concerned" about a recent US report saying Taiwan's fighter jets are incapable.

Taiwan's fighter jets are inferior to those on the Chinese mainland, Reuters quoted the US government report as saying on Monday, hinting at new weapons sales that would be "sure to anger Beijing".

The document, released by the US Defense Intelligence Agency, said that many of Taiwan's roughly 400 combat aircraft would not work in action due to age and maintenance problems, and upgrades are needed as the mainland's military gets stronger.

"Although Taiwan has nearly 400 combat aircraft in service, far fewer of these are operationally capable," said the one-off report, which was ordered by the US Congress.

US dont like mirage 2000 because it's superior to the f16: a mirage 2000 beat a f16 for the only simple reason of its geometry give it far better cinetic energy conservation, wich is the key in dogfight.

And not to mention their expensive toy f22: during the last air combat exercise in united emirate, the match was: 3:3 , equal between rafale and f22 in dogfight. for attack, the rafale beat the f22.

China and Russia should jointly provide Cuba with arms at cost.

Do it! I doubt that Cuba will be able to pay but do it. Cuba is not a thread....thousands of Cubans are fleeing to the US every year.

The Mirage 2000 is a later design than the F-16, I would hope it is better!

The arms sales a legal in Taiwan. Maybe the whiners should try to change Taiwan laws instead. Or even better:

Ask by whom Taiwan feels threatened?

Maybe Big Brother Mainland can help Taiwan to have less fear from aggressors and eliminate the threat to Taiwan. Then they don't need to buy weapons from the USA anymore.

Or the Mainland could sell the weapons cheaper to Taiwan, to help Taiwan protect itself against threats.
