Of course it's a deterrent against crime. Most killers kill more than once.
Execute them. Stop them doing it again.

Use you brain when you write something....................

Actually 1584austin, I think it's you who needs to "use your brain". Or if that's too hard, at least use a search engine.

Almost all (88% in one recent survey) criminologists agree that the death penalty DOES NOT act as a deterrent.

Here is one article that links off to plenty of actual research on the subject:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ta ... penal_b_217394.html

Also, your statement that "most killers kill more than once" is flatly wrong and totally ignorant. Most "killers" kill in one of two circumstances: they were committing a lesser crime and were disturbed (e.g. a robbery is disturbed, the robber tries to flee, the homeowner tries to prevent them, there is a struggle, the homeowner dies), or they killed in a so-called "crime of passion" (e.g. came home to discover their partner in bed with someone else).

This is something else you could have found out for yourself if you had only bothered to look before opening your mouth.

well, this is a profound problem that draws a lot of attention from people in the world.
Actually, if one convicted a criminal law, he or she has the obligation to receive punishment. The important thing is that whether the punishment should be serious like capital sentence. From my perspectives, capital sentence is essential to ensure our society's security.
we cannot delect it just in terms of being crude.

death penalty does not exist in Greece .
Nobody  has the right to decide about the death of a person.

YOUR QUOTE "Nobody has the right to decide about the death of a person"

Killers decide about the death of their victim, So in turn they should be
executed.
1) Cremated and flushed down the toilet.
2) Fed to sharks
3) ??????
4) ??????

Your turn carry it on>>>>>>>

Shame you didn't have your glasses on when you read what I put. It was in answer to a death sentance,  not the threat of having the death penalty in force. silly boy

Wan an wo de peng you

Always look on the bright side of life,
some things in life are bad,
They can really make you mad,
other things just make you swear and curse,
When you're chewing on life's gristle,
don't grumble
give a whistle
and this'll help things turn out for the best,
SO, always look on the bright side of life...........................
