A sentence, phrase, word or whatever you can think of - but it has to read the same backward.  Here's mine:

'Able was I ere I saw Elba'  Purportedly quoted by Napoleon when he was exiled to the island of Elba (I'd take that with a pinch of salt).  By the way - 'ere' is an old English word meaning 'before'.
