I understand absolutely.

But, my question is when they caught those guys who "bought" SEX from those children and girls, the first question the police asked them was:

"Are you American"?

WHY?

Isn't that obvious? Because it's an American police team raiding the brothel AND (much more important) because they are shooting an American documentary about human trafficking. It goes without saying that they need an American perp for their movie.

An idiot should be able to figure that out!

Don't kid yourself Whampoa, there will be plenty of non-Americans buying sex in those brothels too, including Chinese nationals.

WHY? I asked myself.  Why the question “Are you American?”

Why are you a Singaporean?

First wach it again and if you have notice the 'American cinamatic contrivance' the cops can't really 'go into their act' as they 'make the scene in a foreign country' until they utter the words "are you an American".

Well, my dear friend Langzhou

well whampy just use your brain for a change.......

they ask those questions because the american police can only take charge of american nationals. Do you understand now?

Unfortunatelly human trafficking is a sadly extended "business" happening world wide; look if not what happens with some people of west Africa that are sold to mafias around the continent as slaves (not only sex slaves!).

Thank you for your response.  They say 2 brains are better than one.  Indeed.   Here we have so many!

The scenes of the raids were brothels in Manila; very sickening.

Film roots from life ,but exceeds life

This is a very intelligent response, indeed.

Like the saying, there is no smoke without fire.  Nonetheless, it is still a movie but a movie with a more serious theme that reflects real life problems with certain degree of truth and realism.

Yes, it is an American film, no doubt about it.

Thank you very much for helping or at least trying.  I am not sure if you have the correct link though as I can't open them.  There should be only one link.

Anyway.  Well, do you have the answer to my question then?  Why did the busters of the brothels ask "Are you American?"
