True Misunderstandings

Yanks got their country through guns and bloodshed, first from revolution and then by slaughtering the natives (100% natives reduced to the less than 0.5% today, if you count those with at least 50% native blood).  Slavery of blacks and global hegemony were also enforced through guns.  So it their short few centuries of bloody history, Americans have learned that if it is a hole, it must be round.  ALL issues are to be "resolved" by force.

The Chinese do not have such history.  While revolutions do take place, and force is used to dislodge the old and corrupt, most of the rest of Chinese history does not revel in bloodshed - unlike that of the Yanks.

Chinese citizens rightfully believe that society is more stable and the lawless would be less so, if the guns are only in the hands of the authorities.

The natives backed the British during the Revolution and many fought for the Confederacy during the Civil War, they backed the wrong ponies and paid the price. Qin Shi Huang would approve. China was only peaceful once the main body of it was unified; prior to that, and in times of disunity, it was bathed in war and blood and fire.

Soap,

Tong gets confused by the fact that China is a continentally sized state and thus forgets that internal fighting is actually worse in that state than external fighting. For all of the states of that size, their civil wars are almost always bloodier than their foreign wars.

What is the Topic of this Thread?

I thought Vic the Trader wants to know how the Chinese feel about guns in the hands of the people.

The Chinese DO NOT feel that guns should be in the hands of the poeple.

China does not need 90,000 gun related deaths each and every year (America, which has more guns in the hands of the civilians than there are civilians, has over 20,000 gun related deaths each and every year, and that's an irrefutable fact - if you scale that by the sizes of the populations, an equivalent number for China would be 90,000 a year).

That's the simple truth.  Americans choose to be violent, and they export this violence.  The results are there for all to see.  Guns in the hands of the citizens are not only dangerous to the life and health of their own citizens, but to the world.

My god, you do like to dribble on and on about how ugly the big bad wolf is, don't ya?

I know, let me choose a topic, any topic.  How quickly do you think Tongluren can turn it into a rant against the USA or the 'white man'?

Perhaps we need another poll?
