I don't like the Curse of Golden Flower.  Because:
1 too many women's breasts, the director uses women's body to attract the audiance
2 it is a movie for foreigners
3 The story is boring
4 There are some logical mistakes in the movie. For example, when the servants of the King covers the ground with yellow flowers, they doesn't follow the order from center to border. When the square are covered with flowers, there are still many people standing in the middle of the square.I wonder how they will leave without stepping on the flowers.

Critics interpretes the scene of women's breasts implies the increasing prostitution in China. As for the peoplestanding in the middle of the square, it implies "the" square in a political event happened in the summer in 1989.

Hey, great thread -
I've never been to a movie theater in china yet, and I want to take my son. My chinese is still baby-chinese, so can someone do any little reviews of movies that are very new or will be in theaters soon? LIke olucifero's post, that was great, now I know there are a lot of breasts, so I won't take my son to see it! Here are some kinds of movies I'd like or not like:
nothing too sexy
something exciting, with action
violence is ok (my son is 16, he can handle it)
nothing all romantic & boring (he'll be bored, he needs action)
funny is good

I'd like to see something with english subtitles, how common are they in chinese movies?

And what's it like to go to one? Same as in the US? You pay, you go sit somewhere, you watch? Do they sell popcorn? Peanuts? juice? Can I bring my own snacks? In the US the snacks in theatres are SO EXPENSIVE it's ridiculous!!!! Horrible!!!! THIEVERY!!!! So I confess, I would disobey the rules by buying some small snacks from the cheap little store nearby (or from home) and put them in my big purse and bring them in, even water bottles.   I don't feel bad, I figure I HAVE bought their popcorn sometimes, but PLEEEEASE!!! It's freakin' corn kernels! you can buy a whole bag of them in the store for a dollar, and they have the nerve to charge $5 for a puny little thing of it just because they popped it for you? They don't have to pop it for me, I can pop it at home and bring it. (or just not eat anything)

Ok - suggestions and answer my questions now please!

I love you all!      I'm feeling a little ill, maybe I'm delirious today.
I am not rich.  :L
