In UK it is racism

In the UK, the statement "because we distinguish them (the laowais)" is classed as racist, as are the following statements:

"You black people like rap music don't you" = racist

"You Indians all like to work in supermarkets" = racist

"You foreigners all speak English funny" = racist

That's the point - distinguishing "them" from "us" and generalising is seen as racist in the UK.

When I live in China or other Asian countries I am called a foreigner. It is not my country, so I have no right to complain if people call me foreigner, alien or whatever or if they say things like "you Westerners all like to go to bars". If I complained people will say - "if you don't like our ways, go and live somewhere else"

But Whampoa can complain regularly about the UK, when she lives apparently in Singapore.

So when UK schools fail to achieve the exacting standard of racial equality that the UK set for itself, people from Singapore, China etc jump in to say "terrible! terrible!" Yet, in Asia racism is not racism - it's just treating the Lao Wai, Honkeys, Red Necks, Aliens, Anglos, Westerners etc the way they deserve.

Hop on quick, the bandwagon is departing ...
"We know it's weakness, but the weakness is so strong!"

So far you have failed to address the racism and discrimination in your own Singapore. Racism where the Malays and Indians are the ones being mistreated

The meaning of racism is “the superiority of one race over another”.

Racism has many meanings, however for your specific definition see discrimination in Singapore again.

Let us take a definition from Wikipedia (chosen at random as an information source):

"Racism is commonly defined as a belief or doctrine where inherent biological differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, with a corollary that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others

The term racism is sometimes used to refer to preference for one's own ethnic group (ethnocentrism), fear of foreigners (xenophobia), views or preferences against interbreeding of the races (miscegenation), and nationalism, and/or a generalization of a specific group of people (stereotype); regardless of any explicit belief in superiority or inferiority embedded within such views or preferences. Racism has been used in attempts to justify social discrimination, racial segregation and violence, including genocide. Politicians are known to practice race-baiting in an effort to win constituents.”

So, what do the readers make of the comment “white men stink”? Is that a racist comment? Is the person who says that phrase a racist?

What about somebody who constantly attempts to malign a specific country or culture? I think that is probably xenophobia.

Pandamonium, well said.

Caringhk, you appear to be xenophobic (add that to your homophobia).

Because of you caringhk?

Well, it looks like neither whampoa or caringhk can counter the points raised. They both have the debating skills of 5-year olds.

Now, we know that whampoa is a China-hater and a xenophobe.

Whoops. looks like whampoa didn't learn her lesson ....
