The recent eruption of outrageous riots in Hong Kong has put China under the spotlight.
The response of the Government of China has been more sensible and practical towards the resolution of the issue. With support from the Central government, the local authorities along with the police administration are closely evaluating and mitigating the state of affairs in Hong Kong.
The efforts of the government have been lauded and praised by the locals of Hong Kong. According to Xinhua reports, large groups of Hong Kong residents expressed their firm support and utmost respect to the police force and visited several police stations in Hong Kong.
Despite the efforts of the Government to solve the problem swiftly, the involvement of external elements and influence of foreign entities are not only impeding the efforts of Central Government but also prolonging the time of peaceful resolution.
The United States and some media outlets are trying to portray China negatively regarding the situation, which in reality is not the case.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs China has made it clear from the beginning that Hong Kong is the internal matter of the People's Republic of China and warned other nations and elements to stop intervening and medalling in China's internal affairs.
Most of the nations and international leaders including leaders from the European Union, South Asian and African countries have extended their support of China regarding Hong Kong issues and the resolves undertaken by the Central Government of China to tackle them.
As a friendly nation and all-weather strategic partner of China, Pakistan has continously maintained its support of China’s position on Hong Kong affairs. In lieu of the current scenario, the standpoint of Pakistan has been the same.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan in a press briefing reiterated that Hong Kong is the internal affair of China. The spokesperson said "We believe the stability and prosperity in Hong Kong would soon resume”.
“We also believe that all countries should uphold international law and the basic norms of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries”, the spokesperson added.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan, in recent visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Beijing, the Prime Minister had fruitful meetings with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang on issues of regional and international issues.
Both China and Pakistan reaffirmed their brotherly friendship and agreed on strengthening strategic cooperation in major socio-economic and political fronts.
Talking on the issue of Hong Kong, Prime Minister Imran Khan extended full support of Pakistan to China and declared China's issues with Hong Kong as it's internal matter.
Based on the strong relations and bilateral cooperations between Pakistan and China, it is not hard to say that on issues like Hong Kong, Pakistan has and will always standby with China, as China has supported and backed Pakistan on all facades of regional and international platforms.
