Need I remind you that Meng Wanzhou OFFERED to wear an electronic monitor, AND OFFERED to pay the salaries of the security detail assigned to watch her and monitor the bracelet, as conditions for being released on bail. You act as if it was court ordered and she had no choice. A good example of how you are not being told everything by your own media.

It's got nothing to do with Meng. The prosecution appealed his 15-year sentence, so the case is go ...

Meng stands accused of selling  American technology to Iran through a HK firm  which's  owned by Huawei. Huawei's top brass reportedly denied the charges, "saying it had already sold this HK firm.", by which it meant Huawei had nothing to do with the deal with Iran.Yet Trump and his Asia hands are not convinced.

Indeed, one could argue that the whole thing is part of Trump's strenuous efforts to haggle with China over trade issues: besides,  for all Canada's seemingly take-no-prisoners attitude toward China,  Canada just plays a second fiddle to America in this matter.  In other words,  the upcoming trade talks between China and America will offer us a clue about Trump's real intentions.

Canada has extradition treaties with 49 countries. We don't "play second fiddle" with anyone. For those unaware of how Canada's extradition treaties work, you can find out more here:

Canada's extradition treaties

Canada does not have an extradition treaty with China, however, a number of fugitives from China have been extradited back there when the evidence against them was considered strong enough, and assurances were made that they would not receive the death penalty. This has not been reciprocal, however. Canada has asked for the return of a Chinese National who killed his girlfriend in Canada, in 2002, and fled back to China. China refused and tried him in China. His sentence was reduced to 7 years, but he was freed in two. In Canada, he would have received a life sentence (25 years).

We are indeed told everything here in China even though we are expats here; as if only you have a monopoly on knowledge of this case; the difference between you and us is that we see facts as facts, you prefer to twist around and play with words. Meng had no choice but to OFFER, in your words, to pay up and wear anklet; you prefer to present it as a matter of her choice when in fact she was forced to do so or the coiurt would not even allow her to go home to her family in VC!  Stop trying to fool readers with your clever twists!

That's a load of crap, and you know it. You only know more than most locals, if you get over the fence to peek out.

Meng had no choice but to OFFER, in your words, to pay up and wear anklet

Her other choice would have been to remain in jail, under welfare far superior to what many Chinese are entitled in their homeland.

Her choices were same what Canadian legal system provides to any nationals, including their own. She has not received any special treatments in either good or bad, not by Canadian authorities.

That's not twisting the words, those are the facts.
