(Xinhua) -- China aims to add 216 new airports by 2035 and develop some regional transport hubs, China Daily quoted the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) as saying on Tuesday.

As of the end of October, China had 234 civil airports and is expected to have around 450 by 2035, according to a civil aviation development guideline from the CAAC, the newspaper reported.

The demand for passenger transport in China will account for one-fourth of the world's total and exceed that of the United States by 2035, making China the largest air passenger market in the world, the guideline said.

It also said world-class airports will be built in the Yangtze River Delta region, in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and in the Chongqing and Chengdu city cluster.

"Service has improved substantially, but existing airports are far from adequate and are unevenly distributed throughout the country," said Dong Faxin, director of the administration's development and planning department.

In 2017, China's airports handled 552 million trips, and the number is expected to increase to 720 million by 2020, the administration said.

End

These are end times. Will our species survive until 2035 ?
9/11 was an inside job.
No second plane. It was a bomb.Bomb in the other building.
You KNOW without a doubt the videos are fake, right ?!
Planes don't meld into steel and concrete buildings. They crash into them !!!!!!!
It's amazing how the building ate the plane !!!
Imagine those fragile wings cutting slots in massive steel columns !!!!!
How STUPID can they think the people are to believe that crap ??!!

So what has been the point of building all of those very fast train services in China if so many hundred airports are also to be constructed ? Where will the land be found in these cities and how will infrastructure - roads, railways ( more of them !) - be established to connect to these new airports ? Just how much concrete can China produce to meet these demands ?

If you are economically literate, you would know the mobility of people and goods is vital to the vibrancy of economy. And if you are sufficiently knowledgeable about China, you would know China is a country of vast land with diverse topographies where many places are only economically accessible by air. The ever-expanding networks of high-speed railway and airports would serve to help people achieve prosperity in every nook and cranny of the country, and it is a feat you are supposed to give a thumbs-up to.

Where will the land be found in these cities and how will infrastructure - roads, railways ( more of them !) - be established to connect to these new airports ?

Don't sweat it, China is large enough to accommodate those infrastructure constructions.

Just how much concrete can China produce to meet these demands ?

China has long been the top cement producer in the world, with an output/capacity bigger than that of the rest of world put together, so you should rest assured there won't be any shortage of that stuff.
Believe it or not, it's true.
