Take Taiwan by force.

US is deploying poison pill to force western countries to isolate China.

Instead of willing to lose trade war to US,
China should take it all the way and prepare to take Taiwan back by force.

i dont think thats going to happen anytime soon. if china ever decided to seriously bargain with the west, why not push out western interests in hong kong/macao first? instead of invading tw. do you realize how much power the west has in hk/macao, and how much money the west makes off of it?

i dont think either will happen in our lifetime

China is too gay for that. China will say it prepares for war but its all bullcrap. There will be no ...

If it is a normal person and not Trump on the THRONE, then I think there could be no war.

Trump is like a newborn calf -- he is not afraid of the tiger (WAR) looking at him.

So it is a toss up.

China needs to get its internal issues solved, before takingTaiwan by force can be put on table.

And by internal issues relevant to that, I mean removing dependancy of foreign economies. There is still long way to go.

As long as China depends on foreign markets, it cannot go to hostile takeovers, because you can be sure that China's exports and imports to whole of western economies will be blocked.

And, by the time it does solve that and other internal problems, it may not have any reason left to take Taiwan by any means.

China does not really need Taiwan, but it does not want to let it go because it would send wrong signals to other difficult regions that China does need. There are no considerable resources in Taiwan, but China needs oil and water.

Formosa is part of the Middle Kingdom

Taiwan is part of China, but the problem is, what that China is.

The "One China" the way Beijng wants to see it, is drifting away from rest of the world, and more than anything away from your Formosa. With developments taking place in mainland, even in just last few months, make it more and more difficult for Taiwanese to accept Beijing's rule.

It would soon be much easier for Beijing to realize One China into a concrete political entity, into which representatives both from mainland and Taiwan would be elected, and which all other countries would form diplomatic ties with.

For now, One China is only play with words that everyone reads differently.
