Will the wait still be 7 years if you got a connection in the municipal government, or a envelope in the back pocket

We have too many cars already. We have huge traffic jams in the city and it takes hours to get to work and ages to find a parking space. People who walk to work have to put up with cars parking on the sidewalk and bicycles riding where there should only be pedestrians. Thousands of bicycles are parked all over the place. Food delivery motorcycles drive too fast because they have strict time limits to get the food to their customers.

No-one wants to wait in a traffic jam. No-one wants to be almost run over by bicycles on the sidewalk. This is what happens now.

Stepping back and looking at this problem from a detatched viewpoint, how are we all going to solve this problem? It is a problem we all have to take some responsibility for, we cannot leave it to someone else to solve.

Personally, I think it would be really great for China to lead the world by making bold and daring environmentally-friendly laws and policies. I think the world would look at China and see how it can be done. I think there would be a large amount of respect and admiration from the international community. It would be seen as progressive and moving towards a world which is not all run by large companies pushing their products(cars, oil, etc) onto the community by influencing governments. However, this needs some great kahunas and some mighty power to be able to do it. China's leadership has the power and the ability, now they just need to will to move towards a vision of the future from which we will all benefit.
